  2. Oops a blunder! Now fixed (in case you think you are seeing things)

    The first is French for happy new year, the second is one variant of the same in German. (it literally translates as "Cheers New Year")You could also say ("Ich wuensche dir/euch ein) gutes Neues Jahr!"

    Of course I could suggest "Felix Ano Nuevo!" (Spenish) or for a serious bit of 'flash' "godt nyttår" (Norwegian) :)

  3. I like the Norwegian. I used to have a children's book called "Children of the World say good morning."

    I read it every morning to the girls when they were little. They still remember some languages.
